Acadian Elementary School held an ELL Family Night on Monday, April 3.  Parents learned about the types of assessments given in all grade levels as well as materials used in the after-school tutoring groups in 4th grade from teachers who were trained in the HMH Family Engagement Program.  Mr. Campos served as an interpreter for the night.  Mexican food was served – compliments of local restaurants. Everyone had a great night, and it was a success.

TFAE secured a grant from Capital One for schools to improve foundational literacy skills for our first grade students. The grant included a class set of head phones for our school plus a one year district license for “Smarty Ants”.  Here are a few first graders in Mrs. Srigley’s classroom using their new headphones.  Thank You to TFAE and Capital One Bank for including us in the grant.

A great big THANK YOU from Acadian Elementary to Brandon Bourdreaux and Iberia Bank for the generous donation to our Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Program here at Acadian Elementary School.  The donation will allow us to purchase items needed for rewards and incentives in our positive behavior program.  The money will also help support motivational items we would like to purchase to encourage students to do their best on the upcoming LEAP State Assessment.  We do appreciate your gift to our school.
